Come to Our Grand Opening Celebration

That was the door hanger we found this afternoon on our front door.  The grand opening is for the Danville Presbyterian Church meeting at Vista Grande School, 667 Diablo Rd, Danville on Sunday September 19, 201 at 10:30am.

The door hanger is produced and delivered by, one of the church marketing organizations I recently added to Resources.  It is part of a campaign to launch this church which currently meets Sunday morning at Vista Grande.

David R. Brown is the organizing pastor of Danville Presbyterian Church. Their website says he has over 50 years in the ministry. He is the founding pastor of the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) in Northern California. The PCA is a more conservative, evangelical faith tradition than the Presbyterian Church of the US.  It has about 1700 parish churches throughout the US mostly in the South with total congregation of about 380,000.   In 1975 the newly organized PCA invited him to start a flagship in Union City, California. The purpose of the flagship church was to build a presbytery in Northern California (Northern California Presbytery). Today there are over 14 organized churches in the presbytery. The pastor and his wife are both long time educators who owned and operated Christian Heritage Academy (Fremont California) for 11 years. Pastor Brown is married to Jeanette and have 3 sons and 7 grandchildren.

There must be a market for new churches in the Danville area—and some of the folks who choose this one could be church shopping at St. Timothy’s.

It’s not a competition, I know, but it is our home market service area and we welcome everyone—but they must find us first.
